Workers have the right to fair pay

  • The right to be paid the minimum wage for all the time you work, plus  overtime pay if you work more than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week.

 

  • The right to be paid on time with a written record of any deductions taken from your paycheck. 

Workers have the right to safe workplaces

  • The right to rest breaks every four hours and an UNINTERRUPTED half-hour meal break if you work five hours or more. 

  • The right to a workplace free of harassment or dangerous conditions.

Most California workers have these rights!

  • Employment and labor rights apply even if you're paid in cash or "under the table."

  • Employment and labor rights apply even if you aren't a citizen or aren't working legally.
